Turkeys, Fireflies and Bats! Oh, MY!

Posting this a day late as we had no internet yesterday. Spent a long winding route through rural Kentucky, which got longer due to the GPS sending us down a road that ended in a closed ferry (low water). We ended up the day at Mammoth Cave National Park where we spent the night in the "lodge" (once again term used loosely) after touring the cave. Mammoth cave is supposedly the longest in the world, with over 390 miles of tunnels mapped. It also has some huge tunnels, with some of them big enough for two buses to pass side by side, if you could figure out how to get them in the entrance. Pics of the caves below.

As to the title, although we only managed to get pictures of the deer eating outside our room, we saw several wild turkeys driving to the cave, and bunches of fireflies while walking a trail at dusk Neither of us had seen fireflies in years, and last but probably coolest was the hundreds of bats also at dusk eating all the flying insects attracted to the lights in the parking area.
