Not much riding today, but probably 5 miles of hiking in 100 degree heat (Kriss thinks I'm exaggerating the miles). Spent most of the day in Arches National Park. Simply beautiful, pics below be sure to click on them for bigger version. Also can you find Kriss for scale in one of the pics?
After Arches we rode down to Moab Utah (all of 8 miles or so) and found a late lunch at the Moab Brewery! Yes, to spite some skeptics in the crowd there are micro-breweries in Utah, and it was open on Sunday! Utah law is very strict we were informed, so we could only have two beer samplers at a time per person, but there is no limit to how many rounds of those two samples you can have 8-). After sampling 6 of their finest, Kriss decided on the Derailleur Ale - a dark amber ale, and Dan had the Black Raven Oatmeal Stout, even though he actually liked the Scorpion Pale Ale better. We both opted for Reuben's for lunch, a very good choice. The sauerkraut and bread were excellent, and Kriss added some flavorful spicy Barley Stout Mustard to hers, and Dan found the mustard was awesome on his fries. We did however change things up a bit and have dessert last, a Brewers Brownie Sundae (which enhanced the stout to perfection) Overall 2 thumbs up!

I am not a skeptic, I'm a critic. Get it right guys :-)
ReplyDeleteBesides, I'm sure the number of brew pubs increased as your relative proximity to Colorado increased. There definitely is an obvious cause and effect relationship here. Kind of like the number of interesting fun or tasty things to do increases, as you get further away from here ( "Here" being Purgatory).
