We left Mesa Verde this morning on a nice sunny warm day (hint, weather subject to change). Road through Durango and turned north onto US 550, to the "Million Dollar Highway" part of the San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway. Halfway through the crazy mountain windy route (over 11,000 feet passes, more twists than curly fries, and huge cliffs up and down) mother nature decided our trip had been to hot and dry, and the thunder, lightning and rain opened up on us. We ended up stopping after the mountain terrain dumped us out into Montrose Colorado, and the way forward was covered with more black clouds, wind (lots of wind, but no flying monkeys) and rain. We are now on US 50 heading east towards Kansas (is there anyplace like home?) That's all for today folks.
